Back to Washington
Tracy and I made it back to Washington and despite the clouds and cool weather we had a wonderful time. Got to reconnect with family, friends, Tacoma, Seattle, Steilacoom and Mount Rainier.
We ran everyday at the new Chambers Bay Golf Course and County Park. When I was a juvenile delinquent, we used to sneak in to what was then a gravel pit. I don't know who's idea it was to turn it into a park but they should be given a medal. It is a wonderful public space made even better by the remnants of concrete industrial ruins.
We spent a day in Seattle doing our favorite things... hanging out at Pike Street Market, going down to Pioneer Square and browsing the Elliott Bay Book store, eating good food and drinking coffee. Got to hang out with good friends, Court & Mary, John & Pam and John & Julie Frazier at the Tacoma waterfront. Had a big picnic with the brothers and sisters, and Uncle Dave and Aunt Sandy. Spent the night on Joyce and Herb's wonderful boat: "Gratitude." Had Sonny and Becky's famous enchiladas. Ran the 5 mile loop in Point Defiance Park early one morning. Had Sunday brunch with Mom and her Sunday brunch gang. And hiked the Sunrise Loop Trail on Mt. Rainier. Can't wait to return!
